There was going to be 5 winners, but as there were 6 people commenting, I’m calling a win for everyone, so congratulations to the *6* winners: Jordana, fichen1, Carol, J.Lee, Esther & Kareni
For Day 17, I’ve got a special treat. My friend and long-standing critique partner, who reads all my work before anyone else does, Edie Ramer, is offering 5 e-copies of her romantic suspense novel THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE & MURDER to 5 lucky commenters.
Edie sets her books in small towns and her characters are very real. I love reading small town settings, there is something of the armchair traveller in me when I do. What about you? Do you like stories set in small towns, where everyone knows everyone else’s business?

Sounds interesting.
All Edie’s books are interesting 🙂
Thank you, Michelle. And right back at you. 🙂
xx 🙂
Actually, I do like stories set in small towns…especially when there’s a series. You get to know the people of the town, then, and you feel more like a visitor than a reader.
Yes, that’s so true.
J.Lee, my husband and I moved to a small town a year and a half ago. I’m so glad we did this. It’s such a friendly place.
Please thank Edie for her kind gift!
I moved a lot growing up, so I never really knew one place very well. It’s fun to read fiction that allows me that experience, so, yes, I do like well written stories set in a small town.
That’s so true, Kareni. Series set in small towns really do give you the feeling you know everyone well.
I also like stories set in small communities. But that’s mainly because authors get to work within a closely plotted group. It’s possible to work this sense into a larger group, but generally takes more effort to set up effectively.
This is true, Esther. It is very hard to juggle a lot of characters effectively, and even then, some just have to be less deep because otherwise it gets overwhelming.
Thank Edie for the chance to win. I enjoy stories set in small towns as I feel like I get to know the characters better.
Carol, it’s my pleasure!
I do love small-town settings, although I’ve never lived in one. Armchair travel is definitely one of the pleasures of reading! Thanks for the peek at Edie’s book–it sounds like a good one!
I’ve also never lived in a small town, which is probably why I like stories set in small towns so much 🙂
Extra thanks to Edie Ramer for extending her offer to all the posters!
Yay!
Michelle, thanks to everyone who commented. I hope you all enjoy the book. And thank you, Michelle, for inviting me!
Thanks for being part of the giveaway, and for your generosity!
Thank you, Edie and Michelle, for the prize!
It’s my pleasure, Kareni!
My pleasure!
